I’m in love with these scenes from David Emmite’s cyborg forest! (via io9)
Step into a seedy world populated by vagabond clowns, booze chugging bears, Victorian drunkards and other hedonistic folk when Purveyors of Firewater & Opiates opens on June 16th at LIFT.
Purveyors will feature new work and oddities from Chicago’s Matthew Ryan Sharp and Detroit’s own Kill Taupe. Hope to see you there!

Lovin’ the latest Great Showdown from Scott C:
“Most artists take years to develop their style, Thierry seemed to miss out on all those bits.”
Illustrator, and whiskey aficionado, Matthew Ryan Sharp is hard at work in the studio brewing up a new batch of gypsy-carnie-vaudeville-drifter type folks for our two-man exhibit Purveyors of Firewater and Opiates.
Hedonistic bears on shore leave, moonshine chugging clowns and more can be found when Purveyors opens June 16th at LIFT in Royal Oak.
Those two-plus hours you spent last weekend watching a movie based on a board game could have been better spent.
Read a book.

This month is crazy busy, so please excuse me while I become a recluse for the next four weeks. I’ll be coming out of the cave studio on the 16th of June for the opening of Purveyors of Firewater & Opiates with Matthew Ryan Sharp at LIFT, and again on the 25th for the opening of Pushin’ Paint at Rivers Edge in Wyandotte. Come say hi, I’ll be giddy for human interaction.

Ron Zakrin is quickly becoming one of my favorite Detroit artists. His lush color palettes, textured canvas’ and unique characters, with their beautiful otherworldly glow, are hard to turn away from. He easily pulls you into his own mystical realm, and once there you won’t want to leave.
323 East in Royal Oak will be hosting Ron’s next solo show Still Life with Drum Machine. An exhibit heavily influenced by Zakrin’s love of electronic music. Check out the opening on Friday, May 18th and be amazed!

Read more about the opening after the jump.
I’ve got a two man show and a group show on the horizon, so I won’t be back for awhile. Probably mid-July at the earliest. >____<
Until then, all your untaupey needs can be met through the online shop or through one of these great local shops! ^____^
Hi Lani! I’d love to explore that option… but I suck with a sewing machine. Perhaps one day a plush company will take notice of my characters and then they will be produced properly and you can fling yourself into a giant pile of cuddly broccolis, bears and cracked out rabbits. ^_____^
