Had a most excellent weekend at the Rust Belt Market. The city of Ferndale was bursting with energy as Woodward Ave. was taken over for the annual, love it or hate it, Dream Cruise. Met a lot of cool new folks, saw a lot of friendly familiar faces, consumed some tasty beverages at The WAB and had some grand adventures in Detroit. Even saw a motherfuckin’ dragon!

I’ll be returning to the Rust Belt Market in Ferndale this weekend! If you’re in the area pop in and say hi, check out the plethora of handmade awesome and take in a lemonade while you enjoy some live music. Friday August 19th 6-10pm Saturday August 20th & Sunday August 21st 11am-7pm

I had an amazing time at yesterdays DIYpsi! A huge thank you to everyone that came out to Woodruff’s to support your local artists and makers of handmade greatness. It was fantastic seeing everyone again and meeting so many awesome new people.

Also, a giant tip of the hat (and raising of the beer glass) to Marcy from All Things Grow, Cre from Tin Angry Men and Sherri from Sparklepants Industries for bringing everyone together and organizing such an great event!

The second installment of DIYpsi is almost here! DIYpsi (dip-si) is an indie fair that provides the Ypsilanti community with the opportunity to connect with area artists. Their vendors represent a wide variety of handmade mediums covering everything from home goods to art and apparel. Founded by three friends in 2010, DIYpsi fairs are created by a local collective of makers, volunteers and sponsors who are committed to Ypsilanti’s unique and enduring do-it-yourself spirit. Head on down to Woodruffs in Depot Town on August 13th to check out and purchase loads of awesome. I’ll be there along with 37 other vendors from 11am - 7pm.
Get the latest info and vendor previews over on the DIYpsi Facebook Page.
