Sal Rodriguez recently visited Glenn Barr’s studio and came away with these amazing photos that paint a truly unique portrait of one of my favorite artists. Glenn is currently preparing for his next solo show at the new Inner State Gallery in Detroit.

via ClickonDetroit:

Inner State Gallery formerly 323 East of Royal Oak, will be opening its doors May 17th with their first solo show by Detroit’s own and famed artist Glenn Barr. The show entitled “Rooms” will showcase an entire new body of work from Barr who has not held a solo show in Detroit for over four years. Inner State Gallery is located at 1410 Gratiot, Eastern Market Detroit. “Rooms” will run through til June 16th.

“I’m biased but the Detroit Urban Craft Fair is my favorite event each year,” said Dorset. “It’s not just because I love to see what the vendors have created this time around and do a bit of holiday shopping for myself, but I’m always so inspired to see so many talented artists, crafters, and makers in metro Detroit in one place. And it’s humbling to see so many wonderful area residents come to the fair to support local businesses and our economy with their purchases. In just two days you can see the future for southeastern Michigan, and the region, happening right before your eyes.”                                                                   - Lish Dorset, Handmade Detroit 7th Annual Detroit Urban Craft Fair Masonic Temple 500 Temple Ave. Detroit, MI Saturday, December 1st 10A-7P Sunday, December 2nd 11A-6P

I found this mixed in with my Grandma’s belongings. I’d like to think it’s from an exciting weekend she spent in the city.
