Josh Buckenberger is a Detroit artist with a dream, a mustache and a drawing implement in his hand. He studied Illustration at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and has since put his talents to use in a diverse range of fields from web design to parade float construction to art restoration. He has shown at C Pop Gallery, Northville Art House, Russell Industrial and other area galleries.

The cute, grotesque and surreal meet in LIFT’s first show of 2012! Metro-Detroit artists Heather Hansma and Josh Buckenberger are joined by Austin, TX illustrator Cody Schibi for the LOVESICK exhibit. Bask in all the adorable, horrifying and moody just in time for Valentines Day!

Urban Roots, a group show celebrating the rise of urban farming, opened this past Saturday at 323 East in Royal Oak. An eclectic group of artists displayed an equally eclectic body of work featuring subjects that were fresh, colorful, and locally grown.

The exhibit will be up until the 5th of October, so make sure to swing by and check it out!

Get to know the artists of M&HD2 - Heather Hansma



Miss Hansma is a lowbrow illustrator hailing from the Metro-Detroit area. Her colorful and humorous artwork usually features her signature Puff Bun characters paying homage to entertainment and pop culture.

Heather took part in the first Meth & Hot Dogs show in St. Louis and we’re thrilled to have her back for the sequel! Check out her website for more samplings of her work and see what craziness she puts on canvas when Meth & Hot Dogs 2 opens this April at LiFT.
